Today we had a new test race at Sjusjøen. The track network has been increased since last race and with 8 very keen athletes at the start line everything was set for this to be a lot of fun. When the sun also were present this ended up being a fantastic training, and probably one of the best and most challenging we will see this season. I realised on the last lap I was just smiling out there, even after 1 hour of hard work. I had the flow, the sun was shining and I was just happy chasing the next control.
I did a good race. A couple of minor mistakes where I missed a junction in the extremely dense parts, but I always had it under control and could easily continue and navigate myself back on the right track again without losing too much time.
The results are still not official, but good performances here today gives confidence for the World Champs in some months.
After this hard race my brain is fried, so we save the next hard ski-o session till saturday. Cannot wait to take part in more of this joy.
A big thanks to Erlend Slokvik and Emily for another fantastic day in the forest.
